"IN THE BEGINNING"(Continued)
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth"-GENESIS 1:1
God has many methods of communication. One that I enjoy every day is God's creation. Just as an artist speaks with his brush, a writer with his pen, a musician with his instrument, God speaks to us every day through His creation. David wrote, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard"- Psalm 19:1-3.
When we look up into the glittering heavens and behold the splendor of the countless planets and stars, God says, "Behold my glory". The chirp of the redbird, the cry of the great eagle, the bloom of the flower and the buzz of the bee "sheweth his handywork." And what handywork it is. Who,butGod could make a flower or a bee? Is there any wonder why we enjoy God's creation so much? It gives a spring to our step and twinkle to our eye. God's creation is refreshing and relaxing. When we commune with nature, we are really communing with the God that created nature. We are not to worship nature itself, but God that created nature. God should be the object of our worship and admiration.
Every day and every night, since creation, God has communicated with mankind through His creation revealing His matchless "knowledge". Sophisticated spaceships and telescopes continue to report that there are yet galaxies to be discovered. Modern medicine has but scratched the surface of the human body that God created with His "knowledge". God's creation says a lot, doesn't it?
There are no barriers to God's majestic language. Regardless of race, nationality, or language, His voice is heard with reverential awe. There is no voice or language in which God's voice is not heard. This is global communication par excellence which outstrips the highest satellites. Many conclusions could be drawn from David's words, but one fact is crystal clear: today, in 2001, God is alive and well...... AND HE IS NOT SILENT!! Has He spoken to you today? If He has, have you praised Him for His glorious majesty and the blessings you have received from His creation? Come to worship with us at HARMONY PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH, at Donaldson, where God is sovereign and salvation is by His abundant and amazing grace. Services begin at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.
